"We all deserve to be heard, we all deserve respect, and we all have the potential to change and improve.”

Today you may be seeking support to help you get through a difficult time, overcome uncomfortable symptoms, or make a profound change in your life.

Identity concerns, mood swings, anxiety, fears, and insecurity can make every day challenging, but you are capable of overcoming obstacles. You deserve to enjoy a more rewarding and peaceful existence.

Therapy is a process that can help learn how to confront life’s difficulties with more ease and softness. The path to feeling more satisfied, confident, and independent in your choices implies work. The journey is rewarding, and yet it can also be difficult at times.

It’s my goal to help you grow by walking alongside you through this process of self-discovery and fulfillment.

Meet Begoña Núñez Sánchez, MS, LP,
Licensed Psychoanalyst

I am a licensed psychoanalyst with 20 years of experience helping individuals and couples from diverse cultural backgrounds. I’ve worked with clients including young adults and adults in Europe and the U.S. My areas of expertise include concerns related to ADHD, anxiety, depression, identity exploration, traumatic experiences, grief and loss, fertility concerns, relationship challenges, and major life transitions such as moving away from your country or home, or starting a new career. I also work extensively with healthcare professionals and family and loved ones of persons with mental health struggles.

I value your uniqueness and believe that there’s no single approach that works for all problems. This is why I offer an integrative form of psychotherapy which is tailored to your needs in the moment.

After our first few meetings, we’ll explore your goals for therapy and you can expect to:

  • Learn practical skills to improve your relationships and functioning in daily life
  • Gain new perspectives and approach problems with a different outlook
  • Explore a deeper emotional understanding of yourself and issues that may be holding you back

My approach addresses the mind and body and draws from Psychodynamic Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and wellness practices. Together, we’ll work as a team in a respectful, non-judgemental space where you can be your authentic self.

I’d love the chance to meet you and learn how I can help you on your journey. I invite you to schedule a complimentary consultation with me today.

MY THERAPY STYLE

Witnessing growth and positive change is such a privilege. I really love the special nature of this job and find joy in it. As human beings we’re capable of so much. Being part of a healthy process of personal improvement is a special experience. During my work in the psychology field I have seen so much growth in my clients that I have firm beliefs in the fact that change is possible and the psychotherapy space facilitates that.

Starting a new project that’s so personal can be frightening and create internal conflict. I know that there’s still a stigma associated with seeking support. However, I would emphasize that having respect for who you are and your pace on this journey is a major part of psychotherapy. Therapy creates a space where you can feel safe from all that.

Yes, psychotherapy requires effort, and can be difficult at times but you’re supported throughout the process. The steps that you take help you continue on a path of personal understanding and developing strength.

I see psychotherapy as working on yourself as a whole. It’s not about being sick and getting help but about approaching your needs and taking care of them. You go to the gym to get care of your body or to school to receive an education. You go to psychotherapy to take care of yourself as the important human being that you are.

Psychotherapy is a process designed to help you grow so that you will be able to confront difficulties that life throws at you on your own or using the support available to you, while feeling satisfied and independent.

It’s also a path where we work together in a collaborative effort. Because of this we’re going to be mindful throughout the process, of how your needs evolve and where you’re at each step of the way. This way, both of us will be ready when the moment comes for you to leave therapy, and I’ll be happy to celebrate your progress and self-care.
