Do you find yourself overwhelmed by the constant demands placed on you? Is burnout getting in the way of your self-expression and fulfillment? Maybe you’re struggling to find meaning or direction in your life as you navigate a seemingly impossible career in the creative field.

It can be hard to find a path forward when you feel stuck in your own brain and overwhelmed by the stressors in your life. Burnout, perfectionism, imposter syndrome, and rejection can make it challenging to feel truly fulfilled. Additionally, you may struggle to feel grounded in this fast-paced, loud, and often overwhelming world.

You deserve to slow down, prioritize your mental health, and find peace. In the safe, supportive environment of therapy, you can reclaim your well-being and find your way to a meaningful, fulfilling life.

Meet Alyssa Digges, MA,
Psychotherapy extern

I’m a psychotherapy extern who works with individuals in New York City and throughout New York state. I specialize in therapy for mood disorders and anxiety, with a particular focus on serving creative professionals. Whether you are an actor, artist, singer/songwriter, or writer, I’m experienced in addressing the unique challenges and issues that are commonly encountered in your creative line of work.

I practice from a person-centered perspective, allowing me to appreciate the uniqueness of each individual. By cultivating a supportive and collaborative environment, my aim is to empower you on your personal journey of growth, healing, and self-discovery. Together, we’ll work towards achieving your goals in a way that aligns with your values and inherent strengths.

I integrate Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) with Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and I prioritize mindfulness, acceptance, flexibility, and values-based positive change.

I provide a safe, supportive space where you’ll be able to:

  • Develop psychological flexibility and become more resilient
  • Learn effective strategies for coping with life’s challenges
  • Get in touch with your values to  make positive change
  • Improve your self-esteem and discover a sense of love and compassion for yourself

I am here to support you as you navigate life’s challenges and step into your own power. If you want to learn more about how I can help you, I encourage you to schedule a complimentary 30-minute phone consult so we can get to know each other.

Alyssa Digges is a therapy extern in training under Dr. Fanny Ng, a partner of Clarity Health + Wellness.

MY THERAPY STYLE

I had a bit of a winding road to becoming a counselor. My first career was as a professional actor, which I did for six years before burning out. I decided to pivot into education and got a master’s in Educational Theatre. While I was there, I realized that most of the people in my program were actors who had burned out on performing. I got curious, and started doing research on why actors burnout and how educators can help prevent it. Through that work, I found my passion for mental health and counseling and embarked on my journey to this profession that I dearly love.

The purpose of therapy is to help people be the best version of themselves that they can possibly be. Therapy empowers us to make positive change from a place of safety and support. It’s not about fundamentally changing who we are as people, but rather getting more in touch with who we are and what we value so that we can live more fulfilling lives.
